Ukraine has an enormous market for fuel at its side, Russia, where products can be exported all year round, irrespective of climatic conditions. LINOS is the closest to the Russian market, and we should use this advantage by supplying petroleum products, first and foremost, to Russia. I have negotiated this issue with some representatives of the Ukrainian Cabinet. However, Ukrainian excise duty rates being higher than Russian ones, unfortunately makes petroleum products non-competitive in Russia,” said Antony Considine, Executive Vice President, Head of the Marketing, Sales and Processing Unit, at TNK-BP. The company has drafted an extensive upgrading program for LINOS. “We intend to launch bitumen production in which we are going to invest USD 15 million, which will enable to put out 400,000 tons of bitumen annually. The same amount will be channeled to units improving fuel and lubricant materials. We also offer the plant our technologies to enhance the efficiency of equipment used at LINOS”, said Antony Considine.
