In 1979, Mr. Vekselberg graduated with High Honors from Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers and later went on to complete his Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in mathematics.
Victor Vekselberg established managing company “Renova” and became it’s General Director in 1990. At present time Vekselberg is a founder and current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renova Group.
He engineered the historic 1996 merger that formed the Siberian-Urals Aluminum Company.
From 1996 to 2003, he was President of the SUAL Group and, from January 2003 till April 2007, has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SUAL Group. The SUAL Group currently includes 21 enterprises in 11 Russian regions.
Chairman of the TNK Management Board from 2002 to September 2003.
In 2002 to September, 2003 Mr. Vekselberg served as Chairman of the TNK Management Board.
Since May 2003, Mr. Vekselberg has been a member of the Bureau of the Management Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Russian Industrialists Association (mining and metallurgy).
Since 2010 President of Non-Profit Organization - Foundation for Development of the Center for Elaboration and Commercialization of New Technologies (Skolkovo Foundation).
He also serves as co-chairman of the Coordinating Co-Chairman of the Coordinating Council on Social Partnership and member of the Board of Trustees of the Bolshoi Theatre.
Member of the Board of Trustees of the State University Higher School of Economics.
