Therapy at sanatoriums and resorts for employees of TNK-BP is one of the company’s basic corporate social programs. Each year the program organizes rest and medical care at the best Russian resorts and spas for TNK-BP workers; it organizes, as well, summer recreation for their children at camps on the Black Sea and at sanatoriums and health resorts.
To execute the corporate program, the company engages large sanatorium-resort associations with well-established reputations in travel and rehabilitation services. Contractors who organize treatment and rehabilitation services for TNK-BP employees are selected annually via competitive tenders.
Last year, the right to select contractor-organizers of summer rest was relinquished to regional TNK-BP subsidiaries, who had proposed that change. The organization of the work, however, remained a responsibility of corporate center. This decision has already yielded some positive results: in particular, it facilitates selection of better-quality contractors and establishment of contractual links directly with individual sanatoriums and health resorts. In 2006 alone, thanks to successfully organized tenders, the company purchased approximately 9,000 travel, rehabilitation, and recreation packages. Corporate center is planning to continue the experiment and is considering expanding year-round rehabilitation and recreation for company employees.
To establish a single approach to the organization of health and recreational care, TNK-BP adopted a procedure for organization of sanatorium-resort services. It sets requirements for the quality of services provided, the privileges granted to employees for whom treatment services are paid, and the procedure for requesting care at sanatoriums and health resorts where the employee would prefer to receive care.
