TNK-Nizhnevartovsk (formerly Oil and Gas Production Division Chernogorneft) was established in January 1985 as a member of Production Union Nizhnevartovskneftegaz. In 1991 Oil and Gas Production Division Chernogorneft became the first leased enterprise in the oil industry.
The production and service system of TNK-Nizhnevartovsk currently supports the development and operation of six fields (northern part of Samotlorskoe, Tyumenskoe, Gun-Yoganskoe, Novomolodyozhnoe, Nikolskoe and Lor-Yoganskoe) with annual production of more than 8 million tons of oil. The companyincludes the region’s largest Belozernyi Central Stock Tank Farm with a volume of crude delivered to Transneft system of around 32.5 mmtpa.
TNK-Nizhnevartovsk adheres to the concept of achieving maximal production volumes at minimal unit costs possible. The key component in preserving the level of oil production should be production from the new wells commissioned after drilling, fracturing operations, slanted and horizontal sidetracking. The company intends to continue implementing the measures aimed at arranging an efficient reservoir pressure maintenance system at Samotlorskoe field.
In 2005 the enterprise won Khanty-Manssiyskiy Autonomous Area Best Enterprise in Environmental Protection contest. TNK-Nizhnevartovsk was the first oil and gas production company in the region to implement the Environmental Management System and receive a certificate of conformity to ISO 14001:2004 standard.
