Tyumenneftegaz

Tyumenneftegaz produces oil and gas from complex fields. It holds the subsoil licences to 10 licence blocks: the Russkoe field in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, the Kalchinskiy, Severo-Demyanskiy and Ingairskiy blocks in the Uvat district of Tyumen Region; the Ermakovskiy and Khokhlovskiy blocks and Polunyakhskoe field in the Khanti—Mansiysk Autonomous District (KhMAO); and the Livkinskiy, Rostashinskiy and Rodnikovsko-Vrezovskiy blocks in Orenburg Region.

The company was established in 1991. Initially, it operated the Orekhovo-Ermakovskoe field in KhMAO together with the Samotlorneft oil production division, and carried out exploration work in the Uvat district of Tyumen Region. In 1992, Tyumenneftegaz produced first oil at the Kalchinskoe field – the first of the Uvat group of fields that were later amalgamated into TNK-BP’s Uvat project. As of 1 January 2009, a total of 11.1 million tons of oil had been produced at the Kalchinskoe field. Production levels are now in a process of natural decline. In 2007, trial production began at the Severo-Kachkarskoe oil field, which was discovered one year earlier in the Kalchinskiy licence block. In 2008, remediation work was carried out at 11 exploration and appraisal drilling sites, and an extensive program of research involving modern productivity prediction techniques was carried out to study hydrocarbon potential.

Since 1999, Tyumenneftegaz has been carrying out research to establish the potential and analyze the oil from the Russkoe oil and gas field in the Tazovskiy district of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. After producing first oil in 2007, Tyumenneftegaz stepped up the pace of work at the Russkoe field: pilot production is now underway at several trial sites. In 2008, the Russkoe field alone produced 10 thousand tons of oil.

The company is actively involved in infrastructure projects at its development sites in the south of Tyumen Region to link the new Uvat group blocks to the Kalchinskoe field.

Tyumenneftegaz produced 1.2 million tons of oil in 2008. As of 31 December 2007 its total proved reserves exceeded 380 million tons.
