Preliminary Feasibility Study for Di-Methyl Ether Works Construction to be Developed by Mid-2004

The plan is to draft a preliminary feasibility study for di-methyl ether works construction by mid-2004, Mr. Alistair Fergusson, Vice President, New Gas Extraction and Sales Project Development, at TNK-BP, told the reporters. It was announced earlier that the feasibility study development would start in May. The ether works may be placed on the industrial site of Sayanskkhimplast OJSC. Let us remind that Mr. Victor Vekselberg, Managing Director, Production and Technologies, at TNK-BP, informed that the plan was to conclude a DME production cooperation agreement between the Japanese and the Russian government in the near future. The Japanese side may sponsor its development in Russia. TNK-BP is negotiating with the Japanese JFE concerning purchase of DME technology and DME works construction.
