TNK-BP Waits for Gazprom in July
Yesterday, TNK-BP''s managers made a number of statements on business development prospects for RUSIA Petroleum JSC, where the company holds 62.42% of shares. According to TNK-BP''s Project Manager Sergey Tulinov, the pattern for Gazprom JSC''s joining the project to develop the Kovykta deposit will be determined by this July. In his words, several options of Gazprom''s joining the project are possible; it cannot be ruled out that Gazprom will participate in placement of the additional issue of RUSIA Petroleum''s shares. The decision to conduct an additional issue will be discussed by the annual meeting of the company''s shareholders on June 4. Additionally, TNK-BP''s Vice President Alistair Fergusson stated that RUSIA Petroleum JSC was going to sign long-term contracts for gas supplies to the Chinese CNPC and the Korean KOGAZ in mid-2004. Somewhat later, in his words, RUSIA Petroleum will enter into a long-term agreement for gas delivery to the Irkutsk Region with East Siberian Gas Company. It is early to speak about settlement of the situation with Kovykta because negotiations with TNK-BP are still underway and have not resulted in any decisions yet, Gazprom''s News Service announced yesterday.
