Fields of Yuzhorenburgneft NGDU Operate Normally During Freshet

April 02, 2004, Friday

Spring freshet is nearing completion in the Pervomaisk region located in the south of the Orenburg Region. NGDU Yuzhorenburgneft prepared for spring flood and impassable roads well in advance. According to Mr. Oleg Ravkin, Chairman of NGDU''s Anti-Freshet Commission and Chief Engineer of the Department, employees were timely trained in safety precautions during freshet; transport traffic routes have been developed and agreed upon with land users. The required reserve of fuel, lubricants, equipment, materials, and individual protection means was pooled before slush, as early as in February. All the above refers to general events taking place in all production facilities. But there are specific objectives, according to Mr. O. Ravkin. For instance, arrangement of daily flights over oil and gas pipelines is envisaged in the pipeline operation and repairs workshop. The highway crossing the Chagan River is under special control. During the maximum flooding of the river, 24-hour duty of equipment at passages was organized there. Thanks to taken steps, fields were operating normally during the freshet.
