Kalcha On Its Way to the Million

April 15, 2004, Thursday

Information on crude output increase at the Kalchino and North Demiansk deposits making part of the Uvat project last March – by 4,650 tons y-o-y. Over 220,000 tons have been extracted from the start of the year, much higher than planned. Tyumenneftegaz OJSC managed to rise hydrocarbon production by taking efforts aimed at boosting the yield of seams: hydraulic fracturing of formation, bottom-hole treatment, and refined well operation modes. In addition to greater output volumes, Tyumenneftegaz OJSC scales up drilling volumes in the south of the region, too. 6,690 meters versus planned 4,800 meters have been drilled since the start of the year. Tyumenneftegaz OJSC is reportedly planning to extract more than a million tons of oil in the Kalchino deposit in 2004.
