TNK-BP Guarding the Environment
Saratovneftegaz OJC is going to spend RUR 15.2 million on environmental measures in 2004, a 32% increase y-o-y. In 2005, expenditures on these purposes are expected to amount to RUR 18.7 million. One of the top priorities for TNK-BP is ensuring accident-free and safe technological equipment operations in the production process. The petroleum company is increasing investments into environmental efforts of its Saratov-based enterprises. Saratovneftegaz OJSC is taking task-oriented efforts to replace depreciated pipelines, to dispose of sludge, to reclaim lands and reduce noxious environmental effects of its production activities. Costs of land reclamation and waste disposal (including sludge tank liquidation) will more than double.
