Company and Region: Tackling Problems Together
The article on the meeting of district administration heads of the Orenburg Region with senior executives of the region''s petroleum enterprises, which was initiated by heads of TNK-BP Orenburg Branch. The meeting discussed operations of the petroleum company in the Orenburg Region and their interaction with district centers. Orsk Mayor Yury Chernousov noted: "Orsknefteorgsintez always supports municipal social actions and undertakes to repair roads, to sponsor numerous children''s institutions and so on and so forth. City-wide charitable actions and mass festive events are also actively sponsored by the petroleum company." When a municipal TV channel was established in Orsk, Orsknefteorgsintez OJSC allocated necessary funds to repair the building. The preliminary agreement for co-financing of the Pobeda settlement gasification has been reached. The article highlights that in 2003 Orsknefteorgsintez OJSC remitted over RUR 98 million to the municipal budget, or over 10% of the municipal budget own income.
