Saratovneftegaz OJSC to Boost Pipeline Reconstruction and Overhauling
Saratovneftegaz OJSC has been gradually increasing the scope of pipeline reconstruction and overhauling over the last few years. 38.3 km of pipelines were replaced in 2002, 39.6 km in 2003, and the plan is to renew approx. 70 km of oil and gas communications this year. In 2005, investments for these purposes are to more than double as compared with this year – from RUR 59.9 million to RUR 146.7 million. Sections of the pipelines in the most environmentally dangerous parts are replaced with high corrosion-resistant pipes or pipes with internal and external insulation. Implementation of the project for anti-corrosion coverage of tanks, to which Saratovneftegaz OJSC is getting down, will also contribute to environmental risk reduction in operation of oil-extraction facilities.
