TNK-BP to Lift Over 1 Million Tons of Oil from Uvat Fields This Year
A report on Tyumenneftegaz'' performance in January/May 2004. Crude oil output in the fields of the south of the region came to 403,800 tons over five months, a 34.4% growth y-o-y (from 369,400 tons). Output stood at 92,100 tons in May, having increased by 15,600 tons (or by 20.3%) as compared with May 2003. Geological and technical efforts taken in January/May enabled to additionally extract 56,700 tons of oil, including 24,000 tons of oil in May, including 18,400 tons due to hydraulic fracturing of formation. Since the start of the year, footage was equal to 13,499 meters of rocks in the fields of the south of the Tyumen Region, exceeding the targets by almost 1,000 meters (by 7.7%). 5,741 meters of operating wells and 7,758 meters of prospecting and exploratory wells were drilled. In May, development drilling in the Kalchino field stood at 2,950 meters, almost 5-times growth y-o-y. Exploratory drilling was equal to 1,350 meters last month, almost a 3-times increase y-o-y. In 2004, output by Tyumenneftegaz OJSC in the Uvat fields is expected to make up 1,100,000 tons of oil.
