ESGC to Sign an Agreement with RUSIA Petroleum for Kovykta Gas Supplies by September 1
ESCG plans to sign an agreement with RUSIA Petroleum for Kovykta gas supplies by September 1, informed ESGC''s General Manager A. Sobol. After that, the plan is to get down to entering into preliminary gas supply contracts with consumers, working meetings with which are under way now. Mr. Sobol noted that the demand for gas is being thoroughly assessed. In his words, potential demand survey suggested a greater number of consumers than was initially expected. ESGC intends to sign preliminary agreements with the biggest gas consumers. In particular, such as Sayanskkhimplast, ANKhK, AEKhK, Irkut Scientific and Production Corporation and other enterprises of Angarsk, Usolje Sibirskoye, and Irkutsk. The potential demand of ANKhK for gas is some 400-500 million cubic meters of gas annually, that of Irkut SPC, 100 million cubic meters. Mr. Sobol noted that the plan was to create joint working groups with potential corporate gas consumers in order to specify gas consumption volumes. The idea is for preliminary contracts to be signed during 4Q 2004, Mr. Sobol noted.
