"Security Is Manageable"
BP''s representatives from England and the Netherlands have visited fields of large business units, Samotlor and Vostok. The principal issues they were interested in are Health, Safety, and Environment at TNK-BP''s enterprises. According to Mr. Greg Coleman, Vice President, HSE, he was pleasantly surprised with implementation of new standards at TNK-BP''s fields. BP pays much attention to Russian oil and gas fields and enhancing efficiency of their operations. Mr. Mike Sherrock, BP''s President in the Netherlands, drew attention of senior executives to environmental problems that must be addressed by joint efforts. He was impressed by professionalism and proficiency of the Company''s employees, efficient performance and large territories of production facilities he visited. Ms. Sandy Stash, TNK-BP''s Vice President, HSE, shared her impressions from the visit. In particular, she noted that changes happening in the region are noticeable at production facilities. To prevent occupational injuries, the Company drafted 200,000 copies of booklets on industrial safety standards. They cover issues of individual protection, overalls, lifting operations, and other aspects.
