"We Fight Corrosion Using Global Experience"
The newspaper writes about a business visit of Mr. David Campbell, Head of Udmurtia business unit, to Udmurtia''s largest field – the Chutyrsko Kiengop field. The meeting attended by Mr. S.D. Biriukov, General Manager of Udmurtneft OJSC, Mr. R.B. Abashev, Deputy Director of Udmurtneft North NGDP, leading experts of UDNT-1 as well as Mr. Ross Cly, HSE Director of TNK-BP''s Geology and Extraction Block, and Mr. A.A. Artemiev, Regional HSE Director, discussed the issues to be addressed to enhance efficiency of assets of Udmurtneft North NGDP. The top priority issues include corrosion that poses a considerable environmental threat and also makes harm to the Company by reducing the output. On the whole, considerable corrosion prevention experience has been accumulated in the global oil-extracting industry, the newspaper writes. "A pilot project implemented in the Chutyr field jointly with Champion Technologies has proven its advantages. There is a sustainable trend towards oil loss reduction by elimination of seepage in pipelines in our company," noted David Campbell commenting on the business trip results. "In the pilot project implemented together with Champion, we would like to test how to implement methods of loss reduction by corrosion prevention. This project contains many new things, which may have implications for addressing the corrosion prevention problem in the entire TNK-BP."
