TNK-BP’s Choice is Children’s Future
The newspaper tells about one of TNK-BP’s projects aimed at drug addiction and AIDS prevention, which are implemented on the basis of open shift–based comprehensive school 7 (OSCS). The Your Choice – Your Future program conducted among teenagers from ill-to-do families was the award-winner at the republican contest of socially significant projects. The main distinctive feature of the program is interactive methods of relations with the project participants. Teenagers were presented with the opportunity not only to learn about threats of drug addiction and AIDS, but also to express their attitude to these problems – the contest of assays and drawings, in which children, without confusion and openly, expressed their accumulated pain and anxiety for themselves and their relatives, have been conducted. It was for the first time that many children tried to demonstrate their thoughts and feelings in drawings. Thanks to TNK-BP’s sponsorship, banners, calendars and booklets based on the children’s drawings have been printed in the print-shop. Winners in the creative contests received valuable prizes purchased with funds of the Rodnikovy Krai foundation. Teachers of OSCS No. 7, with support of the charitable foundation of TNK-BP’s petroleum company, which allocated funds for purchase of technical means of education, managed to create a genuinely home environment at school.
