TNK-BP Receives Results of Tax Review

TNK-BP has received a ruling from the Federal Tax Service relating to the results of the repeat tax audit of TNK for 2001, amounting to R6.98 billion. This ruling reflects the response submitted by TNK to the earlier findings of the tax audit.
The Company intends to pay this sum in full by August 18, 2005; the time frame stipulated by law.
At the same time, the Company is examining the legal designation of some aspects of the ruling.
The management of TNK-BP states that payment of the tax claims will not affect the Company’s operations in any manner. Going forward TNK-BP will continue its full cooperation with the state and regulatory bodies in order to provide precise and timely information about the Company's activities.
