Procurement

TNK-BP spends more than $6 billion a year on goods and services in Russia. Ninety percent of this is contracted domestically. We have replaced traditional procurement on request with supply chain management with the goal to establish an effective link between the market and the internal needs of the company by identifying value drivers within the supply chains: timeliness, quality, cost, and ability to manage suppliers and contractors effectively.

Supply Chain Management is responsible for managing the updated processes that ensure that TNK-BP’s needs for goods, equipment, and services are accurately forecasted and advantageously satisfied, that is, cost and quality are consistent with production requirements. Supply Chain Management also works with vendors and contractors to create a stable, competitive market in key areas of procurement.

Supply Chain Management intends to move from short-term contracts to long-term contracts. This will provide both the company and its suppliers with greater certainty, allowing them to work more effectively and to improve quality.

While discharging its contractual obligations for purchases of goods, equipment, and services, TNK-BP adheres to the highest standards of business. The company conducts its procurement activities conscientiously, with consistency and transparency, and observation of all applicable laws and regulations. These practices ensure flexibility and reduce external risks in conducting business.

All procedures in supply chain management are consistent with the principles set forth in TNK-BP’s Code of Business Conduct.
